It all begins with an idea
It starts with a blank sheet of paper. A designer imagines the moment someone will hold the finished picture in their hands. Perhaps it’s a bird in the morning light, a blossom full of colour or a quiet landscape in the evening sun. She sketches, discards and starts again, until the design isn’t just beautiful but also tells a story.
The picture becomes a plan
Then the real detail work begins. A unique embroidery chart is developed for every design. The designer decides which areas will be embroidered with beads and which will remain as print. She also chooses which colours will catch the light most beautifully, and how many beads it takes to bring a petal to life. Every bead gets its place and its symbol. The result is a plan you can later follow bead by bead, without counting and without second-guessing.
Colour on canvas
The design is printed in vibrant colours and with great precision onto natural artist’s canvas. The chart, with all its symbols, is applied directly to the canvas. What will one day sparkle under your hands begins here as a fine, colourful picture on fabric.
The beads come from Bohemia
Now the beads come into play. They come from Preciosa Ornela in the Czech Republic, where glass beadmaking has a long tradition. The beads are evenly shaped, with rich colours and a shine that makes every design glow. For each kit, exactly the shades the design needs are put together, along with a small reserve, in case a bead ever rolls off the table.
Everything finds its place
Canvas, beads, thread, a fine bead needle from Japan and detailed instructions are carefully put together and placed in a box. The result is a kit with everything ready that you need for a small work of art.

From there, the kits travel to us at PerlineBeads in Ticino. We unpack them, look them over and share a little of the joy every time a new design arrives. When you place an order, we pack your kit with care and send it on its way to you.
And then your story begins
You open the box, run your hand over the canvas and pick up the first bead with your needle. From here on, the picture is yours. Every bead you place now tells a little about you: the evening you stitched it, the calm, and the joy when it sparkles in the light for the first time.
