Instructions for tealight holder

Turn simple tealights into festive eye-catchers – with glass and metal beads!
In this step-by-step guide, I'll show you how to thread a decorative tealight holder in just a few minutes – perfect for table decorations, gifts or Advent. Also suitable for beginners and wonderfully customisable.

Note: Please only use with tealights in metal or glass cups, always place on a fireproof, heat-resistant surface and never leave burning unattended.

Required materials (for a tealight of approx. ∅ 4 cm)

  • Nylon thread ∅ 0.3 mm (approx. 1 - 1.5 m)

  • 52 round beads ∅ 3 mm or seed beads 8/0 - (A)

  • 26 round beads ∅ 6 mm (B)

  • 13 Baguettes ca. 13 mm (C)

And here's how it's done:

Step 1

Thread onto the nylon thread in this order:

1 bead A, 1 bead B, 1 bead A, 1 baguette (C), 1 bead A, 1 bead B, 1 bead A and finally

1 baguette (C)

Step 2

Close the "circle" by going back through the first bead A and then through B and A, so that a rectangle is formed.

Step 3

Continue by adding:

1 bead A, B, A, baguette, A, B and A and pull the thread through the baguette of the first module and then through the beads A, B and A.

Continue with step 3 until you have reached the desired length.

Step 4

For the last module, thread on beads A, B and A, pull the thread through the baguette of the first rectangle, thread on beads A, B and A again and pull the thread through the baguette of the last rectangle. Pass the thread through beads A, B and A once more and finish the candle holder with a knot.

Here you will find all the materials from the instructions – simply choose your favourite colours and add them directly to your basket.

TIP: Combine round glass beads, metal tube beads and small spacer beads for the wavy edge effect as shown in the examples.

Have fun making it!
